Week One Vegas Progress Report

Steve, look behind you!

Last Monday the big truck rolled in and delivered all of our worldly goods to the new home in Las Vegas. At the end of the day we fell into bed and said “It is all good.”

The plan was to unpack a little and then swim in the pool for a while. Steve planned with the end in mind and brought his swim suit with him. Mine was in the box that said Diane/Bedroom/Pool. When ready to go for a swim, logic kicked in.

We don’t know much about pools, but we know that there is supposed to be a PH balance to the water. We decided to have the water tested before plunging in. Then the rains came and the water turned a beautiful shade of mint green.

Steve found a pool place on line who has been most helpful. Steve had a one on one training course on how to take care of our pool. It is now a beautiful blue and almost ready for swimming.

Most of the ants have been eliminated from the inside of the house. Who knew rain was an incubator for ants.

The torrential rains caused leaks under the bedroom and living room sliders and in the kitchen windows, but we had that fixed.

The dishwasher was wired wrong, but that is all right now.

We have been welcomed and blessed by the neighborhood Godfather.

We didn’t find the printer cord so we bought a new one.

We found the Keurig so Steve has his coffee again and all is well with the world.

We have internet service. Yay! It doesn’t work any better here than it did back East, but it is better than Mi-Fi.

We watched our first television program on Hulu Saturday night. We decided we don’t need cable because we won’t have time to watch television.

SUNDAY: Steve went swimming!!! I watched. The water was just a wee bit cold for me.

Packing has stopped for a week. We decided to have the whole house painted with semi-gloss paint for easier maintenance.

We are happy in our world of boxes. The sun is shining. We are making progress. It is all good.

I’m glad you’re making progress. The semi-gloss paint will be terrific. We have something similar, but it’s not called semi-gloss because Dunn Edwards has so many different types and semi-gloss is only for certain types. Whatever. It’s the shiny-ish type and cleans up very well (especially when I take to it with one of those magic erasers).

So glad your move is going well.

We are so happy the way the semi gloss paint is turning out. The guys are doing a nice job and it looks really great. I know this will fit our life still better. I hope I don’t have to use one, but the magic erasers are wonderful :)
