Can rumors topple a nation?
Bird McIntype in a lobbyist. When he can’t get approval for a top secret weapon he gets together with Angel Templeton. Together they spread rumors that the Chinese are trying to kill the Dalai Lama. A few rumors here and there and the world is almost at war.
War is raging at home as the Olympic equestrian games, taking place in China, that Mrs. McIntyre will be participating in, are cancelled because of the rumors.
Another war rages on Bird McIntyre’s southern plantation as the Civil war is reenacted by Bird’s brother.
The book is an interesting look at the political scene and how little it takes to nearly topple countries.
