The City of Sparkling Lights

We built a beautiful house in the country and learned that I am allergic to all of the trees and bushes that make it so beautiful. We are moving to Las Vegas where trees are not as plentiful. Before we make the move, we have to sell our house. We enlisted the help of Jay and Monika McGillicuddy.

Monika and I have been Twitter friends for some time now. She is friendly and I like how she shares interesting videos of New Hampshire and offers an Open House from time to time. When I asked Monika to help, I didn’t know she is part of a great team, namely she and her husband, Jay.

Jay and Monika even created a website www.77southroad.com. Keep in mind, we are talking about a small town in New Hampshire. Steve and I are moving to the city of lights, Las Vegas, Nevada. This may be a good place to add that Steve is a professional poker dealer. Look for him under the lights.

I decided to go online and see what is available for housing in Las Vegas. Overall, I am not happy with my experience. You know the old adage, a picture is worth a thousand words, well, many pictures were missing.

Yes, I understand that Jay and Monika McGillicuddy are outstanding, BUT. If a realtor is listing a property for sale, why not include pictures? Or why not include more than three pictures. Why include duplicate pictures. Hello Las Vegas. I need some help please.

There is so much I don’t know about the internet and social media and how it all fits together, but it seems pretty clear cut to me. If YOU are selling a product, YOU will have greater success if you include a picture. If the object is multifaceted – like a house for instance – several pictures would be nice.

Hmmmm. Maybe when I get there, I will become a Realty Photographer.

So true, even people who sell items on Ebay often have more photos of a small items, as apposed to what Real Estate people post of houses…  I feel there should be at least two photos of each room, one from the doorway, the other across the room aimed at the doorway, up and down stairways and each end of halways…
I’ve been looking for a motorcycle myself of late, as I will very soon have enough saved to get one…  Often there are at least 3 to as many as 20 photos of just a Motorcycle…
Good Photos will sell an item quicker then a few descriptive words…

Charles, I agree with everything you say. Interestingly, bathrooms get a lot of coverage. Kitchens, which could have many more designs and layouts than bathrooms, often have only one picture. The omission that gets me most of all is the one of the swimming pool. Or the ABSOLUTELY AWESOME HOUSE (yes, they used caps) with no picture at all.

Motorcycles are a whole other story. I want to hear every detail about your acquisition and coming adventure. Both Steve and I are riders. Did I tell you I just got a new motor scooter?

    Diane,

We are currently thinking of moving so we end up in the same situation. Thankfully we found a place which we had visited previously and a friend of ours lives there!

I guess some real estate agents continue to attempt old school marketing tactics so they can have you visit the place and then close off on the deal!

Best of luck on your move. When are you moving?
