Today we had breakfast at the Golden Coral Buffet in Amarillo, Texas. All of the wait staff were friendly and had a smile when I encountered them.
We had a great waitress named Mona Lisa Rivera. She was so nice, I asked if she was trained to be friendly. She laughed and said no. Mona Lisa said she thought it was important to leave her problems at home and not bring them to work with her.
We had an enjoyable breakfast at the Golden Coral and the food was excellent. It was a great start to the day.
In the afternoon we decided to take a detour to Las Vegas, New Mexico, just because of the name. We stopped by the information center. We met a lovely lady named Gay Beth Carter.
She told us she has lived many places in America. We told her we were on our way to our new home in Las Vegas, Nevada. She offered her condolences.
Ms. Carter said she would like to live in Santa Fe, New Mexico, but the cost of living has doubled since she lived there in the 1970’s and so has the population. She is very happy in Las Vegas, New Mexico with the population of about 14,000.
Even though she doesn’t agree with our choice of city, she wished us well and we were on our way.
