Honest, I Was Busy All The While You Were Gone

All the while Steve was at work, I was busy packing. I was pretty proud of myself. Then I realized I had only three boxes taped up and ready for transit to Las Vegas. But wait. There is more to the story.

I collect miniatures. My idea of the perfect gift is something that will fit inside my mouth. Little things. I have lots of tiny treasures. They all require wrapping and care in transit.

The pictures above are of one Bakugan. The ball is in the closed state and the other is when it is fully open. When I discovered these a couple of years ago, to fulfill a birthday request, I was fascinated with the technology. Now I have many because my grandchildren like them and let’s be honest, so do I. This is just one example of the little things that take lots of time to pack.

Have you experienced packing up your house? Do you have lots of little things you love, but take forever to pack?

I’ve packed up A LOT of times. Didn’t like the packing. Hated the unpacking. But always loved the new digs. If i woul dhave had some of those Bakugan things… I’d of opened them first. I’ve never seen them before. Very snazzy!

I am with you Stan. Packing and unpacking is a drag, but the new place is always fun and exciting. Send me your address and I will send you a few Bakugan to explore when we get to Vegas. They really are quite amazing.

Moved more times than I can. Show me a person who likes to pack and I’ll …ask them to come help me when we move. (2 more years) Do you have a moving date?

    • MissDazey

That should be more times than I can count. Love this getting old and nerves ends not connecting…gets me out of special work and writing. haha

Moving does give one a fresh outlook on life. The packing is tedious, but we have shed a lot (probably half of what we own) with this move. It feels refreshing.
We don’t have a moving date yet, but we are interviewing moving companies and getting quotes. We are learning that is quite the business. I may even write about it.
So much going on, so much excitement. We are thinking about driving cross country.
Why did you move so many times?

I also have packed many times. And I have moved around alot over the years! But the last move, 12 years ago; I am hoping will be the last for some years to come! At least until We retire! :) And Diane, I can truly empathize in regard to all the little precious collectables that need to be carefully wrapped and packed one by one! I have spent a lifetime collecting! I Hope this move is Sensational and that everything You pack is delivered safely to the new home! :)

It’s been many years since I’ve had to pack up my own things. But now, as I begin packing up my grandmother’s home of 45 years it certainly has been interesting seeing all her collectibles from over the years. Each one has a special story and hearing the story is often more fascinating as the item itself. I’m sure it’s the same for you, too. Enjoy packing and seeing things that may have been tucked away.

I guess that is why I like miniatures. There is a whole lot of story in a tiny little space. I hope you get to record some of your grandmother’s stories.
