Hello From Las Vegas

Wheels Down In Las Vegas

When we arrived at the gate in Las Vegas we stepped into the airport terminal. We were greeted with slot machines. What a surprise. I shared my surprise with a tweet. Suzanne Vara, who used to live in Vegas, replied back. She said slot machines are even in grocery stores and drug stores.

Las Vegas Entertainment City of the World

That was one of many signs we saw when we drove to our hotel last night. When I saw that sign, I did an immediate flash back to the dessert we saw from the plane on the way in. Can you imagine two guys getting together with this big plan to make the Entertainment City of the World in the middle of the dessert. Of course back then they didn’t have banks and all that to go through and I am sure there is much more to the story I will learn later.

Air Travel – Could We Be A Little More Direct

After Steve and I get settled here, I may launch a campaign with one of the major airlines to have at least one non stop flight between Las Vegas and Boston. The four hour lay over between flights is not fun.

Today’s Plans

Debbie Drummond, our realtor, is picking us up at 10AM to give us a guided tour of the city. Debbie is more than your average realtor, she is an ambassador of Las Vegas. She does beautiful videos of the city and the surrounding area. She is kind, patient and a patron of the arts. I am happy our paths crossed.

All for now, we have places to go and people to see.
