Familiar pictures are gone from the walls. Books have left their shelves. I live in a world of brown boxes. There is still much to do. The carousel horses don’t want to be left behind.
As moving day gets closer, panic sets in. Steve has stopped asking me to come back to bed when I get up in the early AM hours. I pray the energy keeps flowing at least until we get to our new home in Las Vegas.
We still have tons of books to give away. Libraries don’t welcome books anymore. Senior citizen homes don’t call back. The cook books my brother-in-law said he wanted got left here when his wife shook her head no.
Moving day gets closer every minute. In the midst of the turmoil, there are appointments to keep and minimal shopping to do. Friends and family drop by to say good bye.
When I get totally overwhelmed I breathe. I chant my meditation affirmations and remember it is all good.
