Grain Brain – A Book Review

IMG_5934

Grain Brain by Dr. David Perlmutter – The Surprising Truth About Wheat, Carbs, and Sugar – Your Brain’s Silent Killers is quite a book. This book will cause a lot of controversy in the medical field. It refutes many of the commonly held beliefs of the past twenty years. See our book review below.

Dr. Perlmutter references studies that show we need cholesterol for good brain health. We need fat in our diet. What we don’t need is an over abundance of carbs and sugar.

Steve and I so believe in what Dr. Perlmutter says that we are changing our life style to do as he recommends.

Check out Grain Brain and see what everyone is talking about. More importantly, see how Grain Brain may change your life.

I read an advanced reader copy of this book over the summer. I was blown away by the science David Perlmutter presents, especially the fact that your body produces several time more cholesterol than the amount you ingest. Understanding how your brain uses cholesterol seems like crucial knowledge if you want your brain to stay healthy. I’m so glad that you two enjoyed this book!!!

Since listening to the book, we have since bought four copies, one to have and three to give to others. The information meshes with other medical information I read so I don’t think Dr. Perlmutter is a hoax. I think this is “The Book of The Year.”

  3. Looking forward to seeing the results. Meg and I have seen some incredible changes by going gluten free. Personally, I am no longer taking a daily heartburn prescription, and aside from fewer chemicals in my body, I’m also saving $50/month in co-pays. Keep us posted on how you do.

  4. Interesting. I’ll see if our library has it.

  5. Pretty interesting I will have to read it.
