Family Pictures – Lots of Them

Just as soon as we sell our house at 77southroad we will be to moving Las Vegas, Nevada. That is 2752 miles from Fremont, NH. We will be moving our STUFF on a big truck. One big truck. That means we have to be sure we take only those items we really want to take. We will be paying by the pound.

Today I have been going through old snapshots. Before digital, I took at least two pictures, in case one picture didn’t come out. Of course I kept both copies of the picture. As I am reviewing them, I wonder why I kept both copies – maybe in case someone wanted a copy. Who knows? The fact of the matter is, I have two copies of one picture. That adds a lot of weight to the truck that is going to Las Vegas.

Human nature being what it is, I think it is normal to look at a picture and focus on ourself before looking at the other members in the picture. The pictures I viewed spanned over forty years. Wow did my appearance change.

This exercise has given me a great idea for a diet. Set two dates about six months apart, for instance Christmas and the 4th of July maybe. Take a picture of your face and a full length picture of your body. If you don’t like what you see, you can make changes.

I attended our son’s wedding. My hair was straight and looked terrible. My designer outfit, that cost a fortune, looked like a mountain of flowers with a head on top. I assure you that the next time I want to look good for a special event, I will take a picture to see how I look.

Disposing of the duplicate pictures has made a big difference in the number of pictures we will be taking to Vegas with us. The goal of one truck for one house is a must do.

    Diane,

We moved from a big house to an apartment. We digitized documents and also had to choose what we where taking. The hardest thing I had to give up was a trophy of when I played basketball as a kid. LOL..

I hope you sell the house soon!

Steve and I are having some serious conversations about what we want to keep. We are realizing all of this STUFF isn’t important any more.

Sorry you had to give up your trophy :( Sounds like that was important to you.

We are hoping to sell soon. Say a prayer for us :)

Good luck with your move on August 1, 2012.

If you come across the ones from Ireland, I would still appreciate a copy of the one you took of the graveyard from inside the bus with exit over the top.

Tracey, that picture is in the Ireland album. I will try to find it for you :)
