Country Living

The mother pig in the picture lives on a rural road in New Hampshire. The speed limit on the road is 25 MPH. Going so slow and because she was close to the road, was probably why I happened to notice her. She was showing off her new babies.

This is a very large pig. I think she is made of concrete. She moves around the large orchard fields where she lives. Today was the closest I have ever seen her.

It may seem a bit unusual for a caretaker to move a giant pig around a field. I imagine it must be quite a job, although I have never seen the pig moved. But just think about the whole story for a minute.

As local folks drive by, they get to check out where the pig is located. People who are strangers to the area have a pleasant surprise. It is a nice gift to the community.

It is true. I am nosey by nature. I am also a wee bit timid. Today I was alone and did not have my protective husband with me. He probably would not have helped me anyway or he would have said it was none of my business. He does that sometimes when he thinks I am too nosey. He tells me to just enjoy the gift and don’t question it to death.

Some day if I have the chance, I will ask the caretaker about the pig. I will also ask about the old airplane in the corner of the field and the ancient old pickup. There might just be a great story you would like to hear.

Have a great day.

    Diane,

Wanting to know someones story vs. and being nosey are two different things. If they are the same then I am guilty of being extremely nosey.

When I see part of the story and I am interested in it I have to go after and act like a journalist ( a very amateur one).

Weeks ago I went behind a guy who walks by the beach making a ritual which people in the area have seen him do it for over 20 years. I stopped the individual (which was my mistake) when I did I asked him about his ritual and if he could share the purpose.

The guy gets made fun of or people imitate him. I guess he probably thought I was going to imitate others in making fun of him. After a very short conversation he said he was using diving power to calm the ocean.

I walked away with at least the notion that he did not want to share it. This gave closure to my curiosity. I have met CEO’s of large companies just because I focused on something other people did not and I took the risk of asking.

I can’t wait to read the full story of the plane and ancient pickup… Please include a picture too!
